From Filing to Approval: Spouse’s Green Card Secured in Just Two Months

Ms. K, from Hangzhou, came to the United States in 2021 to pursue her studies. On campus, she met Mr. W, a fellow student from Zhejiang. In a foreign land, the two quickly fell in love, and after graduating in 2025, they tied the knot.

To ensure that Ms. K could legally remain in the United States after marriage, Mr. W—already a naturalized U.S. citizen—decided to file a family-based immigration petition on her behalf. After careful comparison, the couple chose Attorney Han Shu’s law firm to represent their case.

At first, Mr. and Mrs. W thought that USCIS would only require standard documents such as their marriage certificate and driver’s licenses. However, Attorney Shu explained that to convincingly demonstrate the bona fide nature of the marriage, they also needed to provide additional evidence, such as photos from their daily life, their love story, and testimonials from family and friends. Furthermore, Attorney Shu emphasized that financial documentation was equally important, to prove that Ms. K would not become a public charge in the United States.

Guided by Attorney Shu’s advice, the couple submitted a comprehensive set of materials, including personal photos, their love story, and witness statements. With the case fully prepared, Attorney Shu filed the petition at the end of April 2025.

Remarkably, just two months and three days later, the couple received their interview notice. Accompanied by Attorney Shu, the interview lasted only two hours. The very next day, their family-based petition and green card application were both approved, securing Ms. K’s permanent resident status in record time.
